I have had HP Touchpad for over three years and recently as my USB cable was broken which I was unaware of, HP touchpad never gave responses any more. I have tried a lot of options but neither way would ever work. I tried with ubuntu-15.10-desktop-amd64.iso then ubuntu-12.04.5-desktop-amd64.iso on vmware , install dfu-util and fastboot, and then run the "sudo ./dbderick 32"shell script, but It always gives errors as below:QDL mode not foundAborting and for days I could not know what to do util I see a important note(Note: a virtual instance of ubuntu will NOT work.) from the following thread.<http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?s=2bf8a4a2392c8bacac28ed4a65f86973&t=2123732>so I download a tool "Universal USB Installer" and then follow the step to install ubuntu-12.04.5-desktop-amd64.iso
in USB drive. <Follow this link http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows>
restart windows and press F8 to go to Ubuntu system, execute all the command and finally touchpad is back.
