这里讲的是对于典型的简单安装的：即所有的程序组件都安装在同一台机器上。
1. 在当前的用户下进行安装ArcGis server9.2程序.
2. 安装部分（ArcGIS Server post installation）:在“开始-程序-ArcGIS Server-AS post installation”中启动。在提示下，设置管理员账号，密码；容器账号，密码。在＂ＮＥＸＴ＂提示下一步步走，其中一步是要连接到授权文件＂ＡrcGIS Server.ecp＂,点击＂浏览＂找到这个文件就可以了．这样就完成了该部分的安装.
3. 安装完成后，首先要做的是通过将当前系统用户添加到agsadmin用户组，完成创建管理gis服务帐户的创建．通过右键单击＂我的电脑－管理－本地用户和组－组＂在列表中找到agsadmin用户组，右键单击它，选择＂添加到组＂便可操作完成．
4. 添加用户组，也是类似于1中的步骤，找到agsusers用户组，进行添加。
5. 打开ArcGIS Catalog，在左侧的GIS Server节点中的“Add GIS Server”双击，在弹出的窗口中，选“Manager gis services ”项，输入Sever URL 和 服务器的机器名，就完成GIS服务器的连接,这里用到ArcGis Catalog是为了能够连接数据库来读取地图数据,也可以用ArcSde来连接。
这样就完成了整个的安装.
接着打开ArcGIS Server Manager页面，出现登录窗口。这里我们在User Name中填写用户名，格式为：机器名\ 用户名；密码为当前系统用户的登录密码。
如果此时提示"登录信息有误",试着把windows防火墙关闭,如果能打开ArcGis Server Manager,我们将需要对windows防火墙进行一下设置调整:
- Navigate to Windows Firewall.
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Windows Firewall
The firewall is 'On' by default, the 'Recommended' setting.
- Click on the Exceptions tab.
- Click 'Add Port'.
- Add the following information:
Name: Web Port (http)
Port Number: 80
Type: TCP
Click OK.
- To add port 135, click 'Add Port'.
- Add the following information:
Name: DCOM (ArcGIS Server)
Port Number: 135
Type: TCP
Click OK.
- Click 'Add Program' to add an exception for ArcSOM.exe.
- Click 'Browse' and navigate to:
<ArcGIS Install Directory>\bin\ArcSOM.exe for example:
C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\bin\ArcSOM.exe
Click OK.
- Click Add Program to add an exception for ArcSOC.exe.
- Click 'Browse' and navigate to:
<ArcGIS Install Directory>\bin\ArcSOC.exe for example:
C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\bin\ArcSOC.exe
Click OK.
- The ports and programs entered should now appear in the list of Programs and Services. Verify check marks appear next to each component.
- Close Windows Firewall.
登录进去后，即可进行ArcGis server的配置了.
