I dreamed I had an interview with GOD.

“So you would like to interview me?” GOD asked.

“If you have the time,” I said.

　GOD smiled.

“My time is eternity...

　...what questions do you have in mind for me?”

“What surprises you most about humankind?”

　GOD answered...

“That they get bored with childhood,

　they rush to grow up,

　and then long to be children again.”

“That they lose their health to make money...

　and then lose their money to restore their health.”

“That by thinking anxiously about the future,

　they forget the present,

　such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”

“That they live as if they will never die,

　and die as though they had never lived.”

　GOD’s hand took mine and we were silent for awhile.

　And then I asked,

“As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”

“To learn they cannot make anyone love them.

　All they can do is let themselves be loved.”

“To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.”

“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.”

“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love,

　and it can take many years to heal them.”

“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most,

　but is one who needs the least.”

“To learn that there are people who love them dearly,

　but simply do not yet know how to express or show their feelings.”

“To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.”

“To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another,

　but they must also forgive themselves.”

“Thank you for your time,” I said humbly.

“Is there anything else you'd like your children to know?”

　GOD smiled and said...

“Just know that I am here.”

“Always.”

我梦见自己在采访上帝
“ So you would like to interview me? ” God asked.

上帝道：“你是想和我谈谈么？”

“你要采访我吗？”上帝问
“ If you have the time . ” I said.

我答到：“如果您能抽出时间。”

“如果你有时间的话”我说
God smiled.

上帝微笑首肯。

上帝露出微笑 .
“ My time is eternity … what question do you have in mind for me? ”

“我的时间是恒有的 …… 你心中有何疑问需要我解答的呢？”

“我有永恒的时间， …… 你想问我什么问题？”
“ What surprises you most about humankind ? ”

“对于人类，您最感到惊讶的是什么？”

“人类有哪些事最令你惊讶？”
God answered …

上帝做如下回答：

“他们总是厌烦了孩童时代，急匆匆想长大成人，而后又渴望返老还童。”

“他们觉得童年很无聊，急着让自己长大，然后又想回到童年。”
“ That they lost their health to make money … and then lose their money to restore their health. ”

“他们舍弃自己的健康去赚钱……然后用钱财去试图买回他们的健康。”

“他们为了赚钱而失去健康……然后又花钱要找回健康”
“ That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future. ”

“焦虑不安地思索着未来，却忘却了当下的时光，于是，他们既不生在现世也不活在未来。”

他们担心着未来，却忘了现在，因此既不是活在现在，也不是活在未来。
“ That they live as if they will never die, and die as though had never lived. ”

“他们活着，似乎他们永远死不了；而一旦死去，却好像从来没有活过。”

他们活得好像永远不会死，却死得好像未曾活过一样。
God ’ s hand took mine and we were silent for awhile.

And then I asked,

“ As a parent what are some of life ’ s lessons you want your children to learn? ”

“作为慈父，您希望您的孩子们能吸取哪些生活的教训？”

“为人父的你，希望儿女明白哪些人生的功课？”
“ To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved. ”

“知道他们不可能让每个人都去爱他们。他们能做的一切就是让他们自己被爱。”

明白不能强迫人来爱他们。他们能做的就是让自己被爱。
“ To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. ”

“应该明白把自己与别人比较是不好的。”

明白跟别人比较是不好的。
“ To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness . ”

“学会用宽容之心去宽容。”

明白饶恕是需要练习才能学会。

“ To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them. ”

“明白要在他们所爱的人身上布下深深的伤痛，区区几秒就足够，而要把这些伤口愈合，得要历经数载。”

明白揭开心爱之人的创伤只需几秒种，却要花很多年才能痊愈。
“ To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least. ”

“明白一个富裕的人并不是所获最多的人，而是所需最少的人。”

明白富人不是拥有最多的人，而是需要最少的人。
“ To learn that there are people who love them dearly, but simply do not get know to express or show their feelings. ”

“明白有人深深的爱着他们，但只是不知道如何表达或表现这深深的爱。”

明白有些人很爱他们，只是不知道如何表达
“ To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently. ”

“明白两个人可以看见同一个事物，但看法会不一样。”

明白两个人看同一件事，会有不同的看法
“ To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves. ”

“懂得他们仅仅原谅对方还不够，他们也必须原谅他们自己。”

明白光被别人饶恕还不够，自己也必须饶恕自己。
“ Thank you for your time, ” I said humbly.

“谢谢您老的时间。”我言之谦恭。

  “谢谢您。”我谦恭地说
“ Is there anything else you ’ d like your children to know? ”

“还有别的什么道理您想让您的孩子们知道的吗？”

“还有没有别的呢？”
God smiled and said …

上帝笑答……

上帝笑着说

“ Just know that I an here. ”
“ Always. ”
“别忘了我在你们身边。” “直到永远。”

“别忘了我就在你们身边。” “直到永远。”
